Two Months

George had his two month well baby appointment last Monday and is now 13 lbs 3 oz and 24 inches long. I say it all the time, but we really can't believe how fast he is growing.
I am gearing up to go back to work and am trying, albeit futile, to get George into some kind of nap routine. Right now, he's pretty content if he's sleeping on or with somebody. I've yet to have a successful crib nap. It's a little bit frustrating...good thing he's so cute! :)

New Friend

George's new friend...well, it's George. I bought George a mirror for his crib this week and it has definitely paid for itself already. Not only is it entertaining for him, we love it too!

Smiley Baby!

George is definitely smiling now. Daddy is the best at prompting the smiling - he makes the best sounds and faces apparently. The smiles make the sleepless nights and occasional meltdowns totally worth it! He is also finding his voice and cooing quite a bit, and always seems to surprise himself with the noises he can make. George is awake more and more - unfortunately a lot of that awake time is at night. We're working at adjusting his schedule and helping him learn day and night. He is now entertained by toys and music, and also likes to be read to, so that is a good way to try to keep him alert during the day. His baby gym was finally put to use this week and he really enjoys it - in small amounts. After ten minutes it's all too much and we're headed towards a crying jag. We can't believe he's been here 7 weeks already - time flies!

Smiling or Gassy?

We're still not quite sure whether or not George is actually starting to smile. We know for a fact the kid is gassy - we should buy stock in Mylicon - but I guess we'll just let ourselves think he's smiling, regardless!
We do know for sure George is getting much stronger. He can hold his head up pretty well now. He's also starting to be more aware and see more clearly. We have an orange elephant clipped to his changing table and he's definitely taking notice, even batting at it now and then.
By the way, Brian commented it looks like he's wearing the same outfit in every photo - I can vouch for him that he actually does change his clothes, he just has a closet full of the same stuff!
